Jennings Materials Consulting (JMC) provides expert materials consulting in the use of metals, plastics, elastomers and ceramics for harsh chemical environments. JMC draws from a unique level of knowledge and experience with materials suitable for handling aqueous hydrofluoric acid and anhydrous hydrogen fluoride (HF), with over 34 years of experience in selecting, specifying and observing materials in industrial-scale facilities for the manufacture, processing, storage and transport of HF. These facilities exhibited increasing production in-time, decreasing maintenance costs, and improving safety performance.

JMC provides expert materials consulting for facilities that manufacture and utilize caustic, chlorine, aqueous and anhydrous HCl, sulfuric acid, oleum, nitric acid, organic acids, organic solvents, molten salts and aqueous solutions. Experience includes materials testing, selection & specification, equipment design, fabrication, welding procedures & heat treatment; and service performance evaluation/inspection and life prediction analysis.

JMC provides a knowledge base of failure modes as a starting basis for project materials selection and for Risk Based Inspection methodology. JMC applies in-depth experience to the investigation of failures, metallurgical analysis of failure modes, participation in root-cause failure analysis; and recommendations for continuous improvement of materials, specifications, designs and processes.

In addition to industrial services, JMC provides training in metallurgy, materials selection, welding and corrosion; and expert witness service.
